The North Myrtle Beach Republican Club will be meeting on June 13th starting at 7:00 PM at Boulineau’s in NMB. The speakers will be Senator Greg Hembree and Representative William Bailey.
Senator Greg Hembree represents the citizens of Horry and Dillon Counties in Senate District 28. Greg received his B.B.A. in Economics from the University of Memphis in 1982 and his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1986, and has also been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
Greg was elected to represent Senate District 28 in November 2012 with 67% of the vote. Prior to his election to the South Carolina Senate, Greg served 14 years as Solicitor for Horry and Georgetown Counties. He was first elected Solicitor in 1998 and was re-elected three times. As Solicitor, Greg prosecuted some of our community’s most dangerous criminals and worked to bring innovative solutions to the criminal justice system.
Rep. William Bailey: is not a politician he has worked for the North Myrtle Beach Public Safety Department for 20 years, and 4 of those years he served as Public Safety Director. He was responsible for a department of 130 sworn officers in all aspects of public safety as part of a 170-member department with a $13 million budget in a town of 13,000 citizens. He was also responsible for daily operations for Patrol, Traffic, Detective, K9, Beach, Communications, Detention, Records and Fire Rescue areas.
- Is a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 104. Bailey was elected to the office on November 6, 2018.
